How to use

Squeeze a small amount of foam onto a plastic container, place a small amount on the affected area and spread evenly using clean fingertips. Rub in circular motions until the foam is absorbed thoroughly into the skin.

Here are the steps to ensure correct application:

  1. Wash your hands with soap and water. Air dry or use a paper towel.
  2. For topical spray, spray it directly onto the affected area.
  3. Rub Clobetasol gently on the skin or scalp until it disappears. Do not cover, wrap, or bandage the area unless instructed by the doctor.
  4. Wash your hands after application.
  5. Use it around the same time daily and until the prescribed treatment duration.

Dosage of Clobetasol (lobet cream) 0.05%w/v Foam

Adult: 0.05% gel/scalp solution: Apply thinly onto the affected area once daily or twice a day, reduce the frequency of application if necessary. Maximum dose of 50 g weekly. The maximum duration of therapy is four weeks. 

As 0.05% shampoo: Apply directly on the dry scalp once daily. The maximum duration of therapy is four weeks. 

As 0.05% foam: Apply to the affected area twice a day. The maximum dose is 50g weekly. The maximum duration of therapy is two weeks.

Missed Dose of Clobetasol (lobet cream) 0.05%w/v Foam

Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember it and provide an ample time interval before the next dose. 

Make sure that the second application is not within several minutes from the application of the missed dose.

Overdose of Clobetasol (lobet cream) 0.05%w/v Foam

If you have used Clobetsol more than the recommended dose. Seek immediate medical help.

Contraindications

People with the following medical conditions should not take Clobetasol:

  • Undiagnosed and untreated bacterial, fungal or viral skin lesions, rosacea, perioral dermatitis, acne, and plaque psoriasis
  • Children 1 year old and below (ointment/cream/lotion/gel/scalp solution); 2 years old and below (shampoo).

Clobetasol may have the following side effects: 

  • Cushing’s syndrome
  • Elevated blood sugar levels
  • Presence of sugar in the urine
  • Contact dermatitis
  • Skin irritation
  • Numbness of fingers
  • Headaches
  • Itching
  • Dryness
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Redness
  • Bald areas on the scalp

Warnings

Do not take Clobetasol with the following medicines:

  • Itraconazole
  • Ritonavir
  • Aldesleukin
  • Ceritinib
  • Corticorelin
  • Hyaluronidase
  • Deferasirox

Inform your physician if you are taking over the counter medications and other vitamin supplements which may interact with Clobetasol prior to use.

How Does It Work?

Clobetasol facilitates inhibitory phospholipase A2 protein initiation, thereby inhibiting the release of arachidonic acid, thus impairing the development, release, and activity of inflammatory endogenous chemical mediators responsible for allergy-related symptoms, such as leukotrienes, histamines, and prostaglandins.
